- Red food coloring
Start by cutting the eggs lengthwise and remove the yolks into a mixing bowl. Use a fork to mash the egg yolks and add a pinch of dry mustard, the mayonnaise, salt and pepper. Mix well. Place about a tablespoon of the mixture onto the hallowed out egg white halve. Using a toothpick, create eyeball veins on the egg yolk mixture with the red food coloring. Top the egg yolk with a sliced green pimento olive.

- 6-10 ripe avocados
- 1 bunch of fresh cilantro, finely chopped
- 2-3 heirloom tomatoes, chopped
- 1 red onion, minced
- Coarse salt and pepper
- 1 lime
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 tbsp. sour cream
- 1 bag of gummy insects, spiders or worms
Cut avocados in half and remove the seed. Scoop out the avocado and place in mixing bowl. Mash the avocado in the mixing bowl using a fork (leave at desired chunkiness). Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, cilantro, and salt and pepper, then juice the lime over the bowl and mash some more. Add the tablespoon of sour cream and mix. Lastly, add the tomatoes and mix them in gently. If you mash them in too hard, the guacamole will become soupy. Garnish with gummy worms and spiders for a spooky Halloween touch.
This is a twist on the classic cocktail hotdog and is perfect for an adult cocktail celebration or a children’s costume party. Just switch up the dips from ketchup to a stone ground Dijon mustard for an adult Halloween appetizer.
- 6 large flour tortillas
- 36 mini hotdogs
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Start by cutting the tortilla into 1×4 inch strips. Wrap the tortilla strips around each mini hotdog. Seal with a small dollop of ketchup. Place the “fingers” on a baking sheet, seam side down, and bake for ten minutes or until hot. Place a dollop of ketchup on the tip of the mini hotdog to look like a fingernail. Place on a serving platter with other dips like spicy mustard, relish and hot peppers.

- 1 large can of pureed pumpkin
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 tbsp. garlic
- 3 tbsp. coarse dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp. freshly chopped rosemary
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the olive oil and garlic until golden brown. Remove from heat and add mustard. Stir to combine well. Let stand until the mixture has cooled, about 20 minutes. Add the pumpkin puree, rosemary, salt and pepper to season. Combine well. Serve in a carved out pumpkin with homemade or store-bought pita chips.
